About Us

Foxes Farm Produce began in 2007 when we, Guy and Emily French, planted our very first pumpkins on a small patch of land in Essex. It was just the 2 of us then, learning as we went, watering the fields by hand and watching tiny green shoots appear through the soil. We never imagined how far those first pumpkins would take us. But we loved the work and the land, and every year we planted a little more. Soon we were growing enough pumpkins to supply shops and other farms across the UK.

In 2015 everything changed in the best possible way. We opened the first Pick Your Own Pumpkin Patch in Essex because we wanted families to feel the joy we felt every autumn. We wanted people to walk through real pumpkin fields, see pumpkins growing on the vines and choose their favourite straight from the ground. That first October we stood at the edge of the field and watched children racing with wheelbarrows, parents taking photos and families laughing together. In that moment we knew we had created something truly special.

Now every autumn thousands of families visit our Colchester farm to pick their own pumpkins, squash and gourds. We plant our seeds in May, care for them through the summer, and wait for the fields to turn bright orange by October. Seeing children exploring the patch and proudly holding up the pumpkin they chose themselves is still one of our favourite parts of the year.

We are runners ourselves too, so in 2024 we decided to bring that love to the farm by launching the Pumpkin Run. Families joined the 1K, friends tackled the 5K and keen runners pushed themselves in the 10K, all weaving through the pumpkin fields we had grown from seed. Watching everyone cross the finish line with huge smiles is something we will never forget.

Our farm has grown, our events have grown and our fields have grown, but our heart has stayed the same. We want to share real farm life in a simple, friendly and joyful way. This is our story, shaped by the land, the seasons and the wonderful people who visit us each year. And we are so happy it has become part of your story too.
