Where are your Sunflower Patch and Corn Maze in Essex?
This year our pick your own Sunflower Patch is in North Essex, Colchester.
The postcode is CO6 3PT for Colchester Sunflower Patch and PYO corn maze
We will have plenty of PYO Sunflower Patch signs around Essex so look out for the signs and you will be sure to see us!
Do I need to bring my own pair of secateurs or scissors?
Yes! You will need to bring your own pair of secateurs or scissors to cut the stems of the sunflowers yourself.
Who can I bring to the Sunflower Patch in Essex?
We welcome all of the family - babies, children, grandparents, cousins, neighbours, everyone.
New for 2025- Dog specific days so bring your furry friend with you on Sunday 27th July, Saturday 2nd August and Wednesday 30th July
EVERYONE visiting the Sunflower Patch will require a ticket (excluding babies under 1) to the pick your own sunflower field.

Yes on Sunday 27th July, Saturday 2nd August and Wednesday 30th Jul
Do I need to book to visit the Sunflower Patch?
Yes you will need to book tickets to visit the pick your own sunflower patch to ensure we can safely open.
Open dated tickets cost £8 per person or £30 per 4 tickets. This means you can visit ANYDAY WE ARE OPEN.
Tickets cost £7 per person or £25 per four tickets. The ticket includes 1 sunflower head per ticket, access to the sunflower fields, field of fun area, huge 5 acre corn maze with game, field of fun area, photo opportunities and car parking. Everyone visiting the PYO Sunflower Patch (excluding babies under 1) will need a ticket.
The management reserves the right to cancel the event on any day if in their view extreme weather could cause damage to property or could render the site unsafe for use by the public. In these extreme circumstances online tickets could be transferred to another suitable day to be agreed between both parties.
Can I change my tickets/ get a refund?
Once you have booked your tickets, they are not transferable and non-refundable.

How much does it cost at the Sunflower Patch in Essex?
You will need to book a ticket to enter the PYO Sunflower Patch this year and will not be permitted entry to the site without a pre booked ticket.
Tickets are £7 per person or £25 per family of 4.
Our sunflowers cost £1.00 per stem once picked from the field.
When are your Sunflower Patches open in Essex?
We are aiming to be open end of July 2024- end of August 2024 but it all depends on the Great British weather!!
Is there Car Parking at the PYO Sunflower Patch Essex?
Yes the car parking is on grass fields and plentiful. Please follow the marshals as they will direct you where to park. Please ensure that you adhere to the 5 miles per hour speed limit on site. Cars are parked at the owners' risk.
What about the Weather for sunflower picking?
We all know us British love talking about weather so we will be regularly updating Facebook and the website with weather updates and conditions in the patch so please check these for an update on conditions here at the Sunflower Patches!
If we have to shut the patches due to wet weather we shall let our customers know on our website and on social media. In these extreme circumstances online tickets could be transferred to another suitable day to be agreed between both parties.
What do I need to bring with me?!
The WHOLE family, your tickets or a phone showing your tickets, your own pair of secateurs or scissors to cut the stems, gloves as the stems can be prickly, a camera to take lots of snaps and selfies of course!
Are there any facilities?
There will be toilets available, but we ask that you only use these if necessary and make sure you use hand sanitiser before and after use.
We will have The Fox Box selling light refreshments including hot and cold drinks, snacks and ice cream. Please note the Horsebox is card only.
Do you take card payments?
Yes we do accept card payments and our preference is contactless payments where possible. Unfortunately we do not accept cheques.
Can we bring wheelchairs?
We are a working farm and our patches are in a field, we do have grass paths around the patches which are wheelchair and pushchair accessible at the moment.
I have picked too many sunflowers what can I do with them?
Once you have cut the stem of the sunflower, you will need to pay for them. Once you’ve taken them home, pop them in a nice big vase and enjoy!
Can I take photos at the Sunflower Patch?
Of course WE love people taking photos at the PYO Sunflower Patch. We do have special photography tickets for those wishing to do formal photoshoots!
